I’m a word nerd (what writer isn’t?) and I love many of the words that have dropped out of common use. Each month I’ll be featuring one strange old word and its definition. To be entered into a contest to win a copy of any of my books, just leave me a sentence containing the word on this post. This one will be open until September 15th, when I shall choose the sentence that made me grin with glee the most 😉
This month’s word is….
Moonraker
Definition: topmost sail of a ship, above the skyscraper
For more archaic words, visit The Phronistery (unless you have a deadline to meet, in which case stay well clear, because you’ll be lost for hours)
Sometimes St Elmo’s fire will show up during thunderstorms along the moonraker.
Love it XD You’re the winner this month. Which book would you like?
